ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLETED BOTH TRM 1 & TRM 2, AND ARE INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CERTIFIED TRM PRACTITIONER (see below for requirements).

Once payment is submitted and approved, access to the TRI Learning Portal will be sent within 2 business days.

Fee includes $50 application fee (This fee is non-refundable) & $150 online portal access fee.

Please submit completed TRM Practitioner Certification Application to TRI Education and Training Manager to notify the Trauma Resource Institute of intent to engage in the Practitioner certification process. Application is completed via Google Form link:

Pre-Certification Requirements:

  1. Individual attends all days and all hours of a Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® Level 1 Training provided by the Trauma Resource Institute.

  2. Individual is a licensed or a registered mental health intern in a mental health discipline requiring either a Master’s or Doctoral degree, with a regulating body (i.e., licensing board that provides accountability to protect the public), in which the practitioner holds an active membership OR  Individual is a licensed or registered medical practitioner (i.e. psychiatric nurse practitioner, medical intern/resident) in a discipline requiring either a Master’s or Doctoral degree, with a regulating body (i.e., licensing board that provides accountability to protect the public), in which the practitioner holds an active membership.

  3. Individual attends all days and all hours of a Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® Level 2 Training provided by the Trauma Resource Institute.

    • TRM Level 2 must be taken within 24 months of taking TRM Level 1. 

    • For individuals who took TRM level 2 longer than 24 months ago, contact the TRI Education and Training Manager directly for an alternative path to certification.

  4. Individual has at least two years experience in the field of practice.

    • May include licensing hours for an intern.

  5. Submit completed TRM Practitioner Certification Application to TRI Education and Training Manager to notify the Trauma Resource Institute of intent to engage in the Practitioner certification process (see above for details).

  6. Complete Pre-certification steps in TRI Online Learning Portal:

    • Upload proof of professional license or proof of registered intern number.

      • Ongoing updated proof needs to be provided to TRI.

    • Upload current proof of liability insurance.

    • Upload up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Resume.

    • Upload 2 letters of reference .

      • One letter should be a professional reference (i.e. professor or supervisor) and one letter may be from a colleague.

    • Upload Signed Ethics/Memorandum of Agreement document.
