Description: TRM Level 1-3 is a HYBRID six-day course designed to teach skills to clinicians working with children and adults with traumatic stress reactions. For this training only, the entirety of TRM will be taught across three 2-day sessions. TRM 1 (2-days) will be taught ONLINE, while TRM Level 2 (2 days) and Level 3 (2 days) will be taught in person. The cost and dates listed for this training is for the entire 6-day training. Please note: completing a 5-day Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® Teacher Training meets criteria for the online TRM Level 1 training.
The Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® is a clinical intervention based on current research about the brain that reflects the knowledge that there is a biological response to stressful and traumatic events. The nine skills of the Trauma Resiliency Model are designed to be delivered to clients by a TRM practitioner. The Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) empowers individuals to track their nervous system and focus on sensations linked to well-being. By directing attention to these sensations, the nervous system can naturally return to balance. Understanding the neurobiology of stress and trauma enables individuals to make sense of their reactions and recognize them as part of the nervous system’s design.
The first six TRM skills, also known as the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)®, help individuals differentiate between sensations of distress and well-being as they navigate daily life. With increased awareness, they can intentionally regulate their nervous system, fostering a sense of wholeness in mind, body, and spirit. As a result, individuals often report greater mental clarity, emotional expression, and a deeper connection to the world around them. The training is a combination of lecture, discussion and small group practice.
TRM Level 1
TRM Level 1 Training is a two-day training and establishes the foundational roots of the model, drawing from concepts such as neuroception, neuroplasticity, solution-focused psychotherapy, somatic-based therapies, the regulatory capacity of the autonomic nervous system, and the expanding field of interoceptive awareness. The participants will learn and practice the six wellness skills of TRM.
TRM Level 2
TRM Level 2 Training is a two-day training that reviews the six wellness skills and focuses their application to clinical practice. The three reprocessing skills of Titration, Pendulation, and Completing Survival Responses are defined. The nine skills are elaborated upon using a scaffolding paradigm to help practitioners learn how to create a clinical treatment plan integrating the skills into practice. The nine skills are demonstrated, and participants practice the skills.
TRM Level 3
TRM Level 3 is a two-day training that applies TRM methods to working with the Polyvagal Theory, attachment strategies, and dissociation. Expressive arts are integrated to give participants additional tools to integrate TRM into their practices. All methods are practiced to further enhance participants' ability to bring TRM methods to their clinical practice.
