The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® Teacher Training
This course consists of a five-day training and follow-up consultation for mental health professionals and non-licensed community members. The primary focus of the training program is to educate participants about the biology and neurophysiology of trauma and stress as well as how to teach simple biologically-based wellness skills through CRM Workshops. Trainees learn the key concepts and six wellness skills of the Community Resiliency Model. The training is a combination of lecture, discussion, practice, and student teaching. Trainees practice the skills individually as well as in large and small group formats. Upon successful completion of the training and post-training requirements, the trainee achieves certification and can then begin to provide their own CRM Workshops to members of their organization, their community, and the general public. CRM workshops can be integrated into community-based programs, including mental health and public health programs, faith-based communities, and educational settings.
All certification requirements must be completed within 6-months of the original training date. The initial certification period will last 2.5 years beyond the original training date. Recertification is required every two years after that by taking a recertification seminar and meeting other minimal requirements that will be outlined during the training. Only the Trauma Resource Institute can train individuals to become CRM Teachers.
