Session Description:
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to applying the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® and the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® when working with neurodiverse individuals.
Built upon the initial 2025 3-hour workshop offering, this course will provide a more in depth understanding of how neurodivergent nervous systems function and with a heavy focus on the experiences of people with Autism and ADHD.
Participants will learn about how to adapt the use of skills of CRM and TRM to the needs of neurodivergent individuals to support wellbeing, increase resiliency, and, through TRM skills, reprocess trauma.
Additional information about CEs is further coming.
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to applying the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® and the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® when working with neurodiverse individuals.
Participants will learn to understand trauma through a neurodiversity-affirming lens, recognizing that neurodivergent individuals—whether they have Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AuDHD)—experience and respond to trauma in unique ways.
The course emphasizes the importance of affirming neurodivergent identities and challenging traditional, deficit-based models of care. Participants will gain the skills to create inclusive, empowering spaces that honor neurodivergent strengths while addressing their specific challenges.
