TRI’s response to concerns about COVID-19

Updated May 19, 2020

The Trauma Resource Institute (TRI) continues to monitor the situation with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and respond as necessary to protect the safety of our employees, trainers, and training participants as our top priority.

We have taken proactive steps to help prevent the spread of the virus by implementing recommended social distancing practices. To this end and with approval from our Board of Directors, we have decided to transition to distance learning format for all trainings and events for the rest of 2020 rather than meeting in person. We will continue to evaluate the situation and post updates here as needed.

We would like to highlight the following:

Distance Learning Options

TRI has completed multiple online trainings so far to great success and we currently have a number of upcoming trainings planned. Please CLICK HERE to see the options, including specialized trainings such as the recently completed Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® Family Resiliency Program (CFRP) webinar series.

Use “The Skills”

We recognize the constant influx of new, daily developments can increase concerns and create an environment of uncertainty. For some of us, there is a much higher risk of severe negative outcomes for ourselves or our loved ones should the virus be contracted. As a result, we can feel unsettled and fearful – we can feel “out of our zone.” We encourage the use of the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® skills to help bring balance back to our mind, body, and spirit.

To learn more about how to use the CRM skills, we encourage you to download our free iChill app for your smartphone. You can find out how to do that by CLICKING HERE. Or use it online at www.iChillapp.com. It is now available in both English and Spanish.

You can also listen to the recording of a webinar led by Elaine Miller-Karas and Linda Grabbe entitled Cultivating Our Best Selves in Response to COVID-19: How to use the skills of the Community Resiliency Model (CRM) for self and others to be the calm in the storm as we continue to face the unknown. You can access this and other free recordings by CLICKING HERE.

Practice Healthy Habits

We encourage everyone to take the CDC’s everyday precautions to help prevent the spread of all illness (CDC Healthy Habits). For the most up to date information about COVID-19, we direct you to your local department of health website and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.

We appreciate your flexibility, support, and continued commitment to the work of TRI.
