Continuing Education Credits

 

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is accredited by many professional organizations to offer Continuing Education credit. As state boards meet frequently and revise and/or clarify license requirements regularly, we always recommend you check with your state board for the most recent information. Please see the following for specific information regarding professions and states:

 

Psychologists

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education credit programs for psychologists. CES maintains responsibility for these programs and their content.


Marriage and Family Therapists

Please note that Licensees are responsible for determining state board requirements for the number of CE hours each state allows.

 Until October 5, 2018: Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) can grant continuing education credit to Marriage & Family Therapists in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, ME, MD, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI AND WY.

After October 5, 2018: CES is entitled to award CEs for Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists in the following states: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MS, MO (TBD), MT (TBD), NE, NH, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, WY.

CES maintains responsibility for these programs. In addition, CES is an approved CE provider for Florida Marriage & Family Therapists (CE Provider # 50-9633) and an approved Continuing Education Provider for Texas Marriage & Family Therapists (Provider Number 558).

Social Workers

Please note that Licensees are responsible for determining state board requirements for the number of CE hours each state allows.

Please see below Social Work State Approvals for after October 5, 2018. Please note that after October 5, 2018, Commonwealth Educational Seminars is also entitled to offer CEs for Social Workers for online ongoing programs.

Our NYS approval remains in effect prior to and after October 5, 2018. Any changes to our website do not affect our NYS approval. 

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0444.

Some states do not require pre-approval. If your state is not on the below list, please check with your state board.

Until October 5, 2018: Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) can grant Social Work CEs in the following states: AK, AL, Alberta, AR, AZ, British Columbia, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, New Brunswick, NE, NH, Newfoundland & Labrador, NM, NY, NC, ND, Nova Scotia, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, Saskatchewan, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, Virgin Islands, VI, VT, WA, WI and WY.

After October 5, 2018: CES is entitled to grant Social Work CEs for all of the following reasons:

1. CES is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA).

2. CES programs meet the rules and regulations per-state, of requirements for continuing education offerings.

3. Many states accept CEs for Social Workers because of approved provider status in any state. CES is recognized by the NYS Education Department's State Board of Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed Social Workers. #SW-0444.

After October 5, 2018: Commonwealth Educational Seminars is entitled to award Social Work CEs in the following states: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY.

 Please contact your state board if you have concerns about CE credit. All Social Workers attending programs that have been awarded Social Work Continuing Education from CES will receive a Certificate upon completion.


Nurses

As an APA approved provider, CES programs are accepted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

These courses can be utilized by nurses to renew their certification and will be accepted by the ANCC.

Every state Board of Nursing accepts ANCC approved programs except California and Iowa, however CES is also an approved continuing education provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider # CEP15567) which is also accepted by the Iowa Board of Nursing.


Please contact your state board if you have concerns about CE credit. All Social Workers attending programs that have been awarded Social Work Continuing Education from CES will receive a Certificate upon completion. https://www.commonwealthseminars.com/seminar-ce-credit.html

Grievance Policy

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) seeks to ensure equitable treatment of every person and to make every attempt to resolve grievances in a fair manner. Please submit a written grievance to CES, 1020 Osterville West Barnstable Rd, Marstons Mills, MA 02648. Grievances will initially be directed to the training instructor. Grievances would receive, to the best of our ability, corrective action in order to prevent further problems.
