Project in development:
In September of 2009, a Trauma Resiliency Model-Veteran & Warrior(TRM-V/TRM-W) Training was held in Washington DC. Participating in that training were many active duty military. One of the attendees, a psychologist, was later unexpectedly deployed to Iraq as a result of replacing a soldier who was injured during the Fort Hood massacre.
In January of 2010, the psychologist contacted TRI indicating how tremendously helpful the TRM-W skills were in treating the active duty military personnel with traumatic stress reactions. With permission from his commanding officer in Iraq, he invited the Trauma Resource Institute to Kuwait to train the active duty mental health professional staff. We accepted the invitation and the commanding officer emailed us indicating that he is moving through the system to bring TRI to Kuwait to do a TRM-W Training. He indicated it might be a lengthy process but that he would begin the process now that TRI had accepted the invitation.
